Socials

Phi Mu plans date parties and formals each year for our sisters.  We hold three social functions each semester: two date parties and one formal.  These socials include our annual Back to School date party, Valentine's date party, Carnation Ball (named after we won the Carnation Cup), and more. All of our date parties take place at various Baltimore restaurants and nightclubs with a great DJ, free transportation for girls and their dates, and amazing food!

Phi Mu's most popular date parties include...

Black and White Formal: A formal honoring our seniors. Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors wear black and white attire while our Seniors wear only bright colors. Senior Phi Mus wait three years to wear a color on Black and White, and it's a memorable event to show our love for the Senior class.

 

Destination Unknown (DU): A Phi Mu tradition! A sister's big or little will set her up with a "blind" date by giving her his tie to wear with her dress. Girls arrive at the location before the dates for a Phi-Mu-only dance party, and then meet their date on the dance floor by matching their tie to its owner! DU is our last date party of the school year and a great way to end the Phi Mu social calendar.

Phi Mu also participates in events with other Greek organizations to promote Greek Life like on-campus BBQs, philanthropy events, and other socials to meet fellow members of the Johns Hopkins community.
